Remembrance monument

The piece is made from fragments of tanks impacted by projectiles. The 8 blades correspond to the 8 sons of Saint Vincent, who died for France and whose names are inscribed at the bottom of each blade.

When you move away from the piece and from a precise point of view you may notice the following optical effect: the blades, physically spaced from each other form a block resembling a steel monolith.  Symbolically, this sculpture highlights the tragic union of these men for freedom.
